This session will introduce you to Minnesota’s Regional Prevention Coordinators (RPC) for alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD), and outline the support they can provide to local coalitions looking to address substance abuse in their communities. The session will focus on how to maximize a communities strength and maximize their potential for change. Tools and resources will be reviewed.

Laura Bennett, CPPR

Regional Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention Coordinator for Northeast Minnesota

Laura Bennett is the Northeast MN Regional ATOD Prevention Coordinator. She has served as the RPC for NE MN since March 2007.  Laura is a Certified Prevention Professional Reciprocal (CPPR) and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Sciences from The College of St. Scholastica.

Melissa Perreault, CPP

Regional Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention Coordinator for Northwest Minnesota
Polk County Public Health

Melissa Perreault is the Northwest MN Region 1 Prevention Coordinator. Melissa has served as the RPC for NW MN since Spring of 2007. She works out of Polk County Public Health in Crookston. Melissa graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with classes toward a Master of Public Administration degree. Melissa is a Certified Prevention Professional. Previous to becoming an RPC, Melissa worked with the Polk County Collaborative, the Northwest Minnesota Council of Collaboratives and Federal Safe Schools grantees.
